Lucknow: The last Friday prayers of Ramadan, known as Jumu’atul Wida, were peacefully offered at Tile Wali Masjid and various other mosques across the city under tight security arrangements. Worshippers were greeted with flower showers as they gathered for prayers, marking the significance of this blessed occasion.
Meticulous Arrangements for Jumu’atul Wida
In preparation for the final Friday of Ramadan, mosques underwent thorough cleaning and sanitation a day prior. Mats, carpets, and drinking water facilities were properly arranged to ensure the comfort of worshippers. The prayers were conducted peacefully, with a large turnout of Muslim devotees.
Heavy Security Deployment Ensures Peaceful Observance
Given the large gatherings, Lucknow Commissionerate Police had deployed a strong security presence across key locations. ADCP (Central) Manisha Singh, ACP (Mahanagar) Neha Tripathi, Inspector (Madeyganj) Rajesh Singh, and Sub-Inspector Vinod Kumar—along with their teams—remained vigilant at Pakka Pul, Khadra, and other prominent mosque areas.
Police personnel were stationed at every crucial point to ensure safety and smooth conduct of the prayers. Officers were seen smiling and extending greetings to worshippers, fostering an atmosphere of harmony.

Worshippers Observe Jumu’atul Wida with Black Armbands
The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) had earlier appealed to Muslims to wear black armbands while offering Jumu’atul Wida prayers. Many devotees followed this call, reflecting their sentiments on various social concerns.
Significance of Jumu’atul Wida
Devotees expressed that Jumu’atul Wida, also known as Alvida Juma, is the most important Friday of Ramadan. While every day of Ramadan holds significance, Jumu’atul Wida is considered the leader of all Fridays, often referred to as ‘Chhoti Eid’ or ‘Weekly Eid’. The prayers on this day signify the approaching end of the holy month.
As worshippers bid farewell to the sacred month of Ramadan, they expressed mixed emotions—the joy of the upcoming Eid and the sorrow of parting with this spiritually enriching period.
